ChotaNagpur College, Ramgarh was established in the year 1979 to provide quality education to the Rural and Urban youth of this locality.

Late Bishwanath Chaturvedi, a renowned and prominent social worker of Ramgarh, established the Institution. The first founder and Principal of the college was the Late R.N. Pandey. 

The college has a permanent affiliation with UGC 2(f) & 12 B under the UGC Act 1956 and is permanently affiliated with Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag.
